WHAT HAS CHANGED

Issued freeze watch for parts of central Ohio for Monday night into Tuesday morning.

KEY MESSAGES

1) Below normal temperatures will continue through Monday night before a return to above normal temperatures on Tuesday.

2) Multiple systems will bring showers and some thunderstorms to the region at times through the week.

DISCUSSION

KEY MESSAGE 1) A freeze warning is in effect for tonight across the northern two- thirds of the region. A frost advisory is in effect for the southern third including near and south of the Ohio River for tonight. For Monday night a freeze watch has been issued across portions of central Ohio. Although dry air will be in place there will be the potential for at least some frost and have frost mention in the HWO in locations west of the freeze watch. Temperatures during the day will also be below normal with highs in the 50s to around 60. After Monday night, temperatures are expected to be above normal through the remainder of the week.

KEY MESSAGE 2) A system working down into the area this afternoon and evening will bring some light scattered showers to the area. While the showers will primarily be liquid, cannot rule out a few light snow shower as well north of I-70. Another system will move through Tuesday night into Wednesday bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area. Friday into the weekend multiple systems will bring additional showers and thunderstorms to the region along with breezy conditions for Friday.

AVIATION /18Z SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/

Wind gusts will continue into the evening hours before decreasing overnight. The highest wind gusts are expected to be during the evening hours. Isolated to scattered shower activity will develop and move into the area today and linger into this evening before tapering off overnight. There is the potential for showers at all the area TAF sites however left out of KCVG and KLUK for now where the probability of occurrence is lower. Cloud cover will decrease overnight, however additional cu will develop during the day on Monday.

OUTLOOK....Thunderstorms possible Tuesday night into Wednesday and then again on Friday. MVFR conditions are possible on Wednesday and Friday. Gusty winds will be likely on Friday.
