Rain will come to the Bay Area and Central Coast on Monday, with rain beginning Monday morning across the North Bay and spreading south through the day. The main frontal rain band is forecast to move through the region later on Monday through Tuesday morning, with post-frontal showers through Wednesday. Thunderstorm chances will peak on Tuesday afternoon and evening with the probabilities topping out at 20 to 30%, with localized heavy rain and potential small hail in any cells that develop. Rain totals range from 0.5-1.5" in the interior valleys, most of the Bay Area, and the Monterey Bay region, to 1.5-3" in the coastal ranges and the North Bay interior mountains.
