May 2026 was cooler than normal across much of southeast Alaska. Skagway saw their 8th coldest May on record. However, precipitation varied across the region. Yakutat, Juneau and Sitka were quite a bit wetter than normal, while other locations were drier than normal, especially Ketchikan.
