Additional Details
Winds will quickly increase as a strong low pressure system moves into the northern gulf. Strongest winds are most likely to occur very late Saturday into early Sunday morning. Confidence is high that wind gusts will reach near 40 to 50 mph. Periods of wind gusts near 60 mph may occur, but confidence remains low.

Flood Watch - Haines and Skagway

A Flood Watch for the northern inner channels including Skagway and Haines is in effect from 4:00 AM Sunday to 4:00 AM Monday. A series of lows will bring prolonged rainfall during the weekend, with 24 hour amounts up to 1 to 2 inches. This excessive rainfall combined with ice melt will bring significant river rises with the possibility of minor flooding.
