Cold Water Safety
Created by the NWS Hanford WFO
With warmer temperatures expected for this weekend and early next week, remember to be safe around area rivers, streams, and lakes. Warm air temperatures do NOT mean warm water temperatures! Some areas of central California can have a difference of 40 to 50 degrees between the two. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to lose dexterity in 50 to 60 degree water temperatures.
