Extended Period of Heat

Hotter than normal conditions will persist through early next week, with interior highs between 98 to 108 degrees. The very warm daytime temperatures combined with warm overnight lows will bring elevated risks of heat-related illnesses. Thursday through Sunday will be the hottest days of the coming week. Heat Advisories are in effect for most areas away from the immediate coast, with an Extreme Heat Warning for the Antelope Valley. Suggestions/ Actions: ADJUST PLANS to limit outdoor activities during the heat of the day Seek air conditioned spaces & stay hydrated Check in on elderly neighbors and loved ones Always CHECK THE BACK SEAT for children & animals Outdoor workers should take frequent breaks Provide SHADE AND WATER for animals
