The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... East Central Elbert County in east central Colorado... North Central Lincoln County in east central Colorado...

* Until 330 PM MDT.

* At 243 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles north of Matheson, or 15 miles west of Limon, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Limon and Cedar Point.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 348 and 365.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.

Thunderstorms Today

Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, particularly for the rural plains, where some will become strong to severe between 3pm and 9pm. The strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail as well as torrential rainfall. Elsewhere, including for the mountains and urban corridor, coverage will be more isolated in nature, with some areas staying dry.
