What
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where
Portions of north central and northeast Nevada, including the following counties, in north central Nevada, Eureka. In northeast Nevada, White Pine. Included in this is a portion of US-50 from Pinto Summit eastward toward Ely, NV.
When
Until 515 PM PDT.
Impacts
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details
- At 206 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.6 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. This is on top of previous days rainfall of over an inch in and near Pinto Summit. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pinto Summit. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Monsoonal moisture will stream northward into most of Northern and Central Nevada today, with historically high atmospheric moisture content. The strongest showers and thunderstorms today will produce intense rainfall rates, resulting in the potential of flash flooding.

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Until 11 PM PDT this evening.
Impacts
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

At 335 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southwest of Currie, moving northwest at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Currie and Lages Junction.
What to Do
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most of Northern and Central Nevada from 11 AM PDT this morning until 11 PM PDT this evening. Excessive rainfall may cause flash flooding on recent burn scars. Heavy rainfall could result in minor flooding of streams, creeks, and low-lying areas. Never drive through water of unknown depth.
