The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has issued a code orange air quality alert Saturday for The Philadelphia Metro area.
A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children...people suffering from asthma... heart disease or other lung diseases...and the elderly. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.

Thunderstorms ahead of a cold front will move in late this afternoon and into this evening. Scattered strong to severe storms are possible with the primary hazard being damaging winds and isolated small hail. The greatest risk is for areas along and northwest of the I-95 urban corridor.
