The Horse Island Wildfire burning in the Frances Marion National Forest near Shulerville is producing widespread dense smoke with visibility 1 mile or less across portions of northeast Berkeley County. Watch for road closures and heed any evacuation orders from local, state and federal officials.

Hot and humid conditions continue into mid-week. Rain chances are expected to increase by the end of the week as a slow moving frontal boundary moves into the area. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches could be possible. While most of the rain will be beneficial, some localized flash flooding could be possible in poor drainage areas.
