At 430 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Daniel, or near Heber City, moving northwest at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include... Park City, Heber City, Heber, Daniel, Wasatch Mountain State Park, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Midway, Charleston, Alta, Wallsburg, Deer Creek State Park, Hailstone, Jordanelle Reservoir, Snowbird, and Brighton.
This includes US Route 40 between mile markers 7 and 24.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Flood Watch is in effect for much of central and southern Utah on Tuesday. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon will be capable of producing heavy rainfall that can lead to flash flooding especially for normally dry washes, slot canyons, and recent burn scars. Those planning to head outdoors should reconsider plans, and those living in these areas should have multiple ways to receive warnings.
