Portions of central, east central, eastern, south central, and southeast Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Amelia, Cumberland, Eastern Chesterfield (Including Col. Heights), Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Goochland, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Western Chesterfield, Western Hanover and Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond). In east central Virginia, Charles City, Eastern Essex, Eastern King William, Eastern King and Queen, New Kent, Richmond, Western King William and Western King and Queen. In eastern Virginia, Gloucester, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, Northampton and Northumberland. In south central Virginia, Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway and Prince George (including Hopewell and Petersburg). In southeast Virginia, Accomack, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and York.

- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread this evening through tonight and early Wednesday morning ahead of a slow moving cold front. This front is expected to stall across the region Wednesday into Wednesday night with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected Wednesday afternoon and evening. At 637 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Disputanta, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.
This strong thunderstorm will be near... Cabin Point around 650 PM EDT. Surry around 710 PM EDT. Scotland around 715 PM EDT.
Other locations impacted by this storm include Taylors Corner, Carsley, Pons, Chippokes State Park, Spring Grove, Brandon, Ellis Fork, Delk Crossroads, Barham, and Bacons Castle.
