Colder Weekend
Created by the NWS Spokane WFO
Heads up: Unseasonably cold weather is on the way this weekend. A cold storm system will track across the region starting Friday night, with the coldest temperatures hitting Saturday night into Sunday morning. Here’s what you need to know to prepare: 🏔️ Mountain Snow: Light snow is expected above 4,000-4,500 feet in the Cascades. 🌱 Protect Plants: Frost and freeze conditions are likely in the northern valleys Saturday night into Sunday. Take steps to protect sensitive vegetation before then. 🥾 Backcountry Safety: If you are hiking or camping, winter-like conditions are returning. Pack adequate gear and extra layers to prevent hypothermia. Stay warm and stay weather-ready! For the latest localized updates, visit weather.gov/spokane.
