* Flash Flood Warning for... Southern Preston County in northeastern West Virginia... Tucker County in northeastern West Virginia...
* Until 945 PM EDT.
* At 640 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Parsons, Davis, Thomas, Hendricks, Hambleton, Hannahsville, Benbush, Lead Mine, Blackwater Falls, Davisville, Elk, Saint George, Canaan Valley State Park, Canaan Hgts, Silver Lake, Red Creek, Cortland, Pheasant Run, Pifer Moutain and Laneville.
What to Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Tips to Stay Safe
A Flash Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is expected or already happening. Flash flooding can develop in hours or minutes, so take protective action now.
- If you are in a low-lying or flood prone area, move to higher ground immediately.
- Stay off bridges over fast-moving water, and away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
- Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads.
- If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary.
- If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

Portions of east central Ohio, including the following areas, Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson OH, Monroe and Noble, Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Higher Elevations of Fayette, Higher Elevations of Indiana, Higher Elevations of Westmoreland, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland, and West Virginia, including the following areas, Brooke, Eastern Preston, Eastern Tucker, Hancock, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Preston, Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern Preston, Western Tucker and Wetzel.

Impacts
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
