Enhanced Risk for Severe Thunderstorms Today

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the area this afternoon and into the evening, with some capable of becoming severe. The environment supports a multi-hazard threat. Primary Threats Include: πŸ’¨ Damaging Winds: This is the main threat. Swaths of 50–60 mph gusts will be possible in severe storms, with isolated gusts up to 70 mph. 🌧️ Torrential Rain: Heavy downpours will accompany these storms, which may cause highly localized flooding. πŸŒͺ️ Tornadoes & Hail: A line-embedded tornado or two and isolated instances of quarter-sized hail are also possible. Timing: Storms may develop as early as noon and continue into the evening.
