Brief Cooldown & Dry Front
Created by the NWS Charleston WFO
Brief Cooldown & Dry Front: A cold front will move through the region today, bringing low rain chances (20–30%) and little to no measurable rainfall. Following midday highs in the 70s and 80s, temperatures will cool throughout the afternoon and evening. Lows will drop into the 40s and 50s tonight and again on Tuesday morning, before highs return to the 80s by Wednesday. • Coastal Flooding Potential: Minor coastal flooding is possible along the South Carolina coast around the 10:27 PM high tide tonight, depending on post-frontal wind strength and direction. • Marine Hazards: A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the outer Georgia waters from this evening through Monday afternoon due to gusty NNE winds (20–25 kts) and building seas (3–7 ft). • Rip Currents: A Moderate Risk for rip currents is in effect for all beaches today and Monday due to lunar influences, 2-3 ft breakers, and strong post-frontal longshore currents.
