What
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where
10 miles west of New Pass Summit along US-50 in west-central Nevada and Churchill County.
When
Until 500 PM PDT.
Impacts
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details
- At 157 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.7 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... mainly rural areas of East Central Churchill County - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
What to Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible due to thunderstorms.
Where
A portion of west central Nevada, including the following area, Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake.
When
Until 11 PM PDT this evening.
Impacts
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, burn scars, and areas near steep terrain.
Additional Details
- Deeper monsoonal moisture combined with daytime heating will produce scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Slower moving storms could redevelop over similar areas, increasing the risk for heavy rainfall capable of producing flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

At 319 PM PDT, strong thunderstorms are ongoing across western Nevada and portions of the eastern Sierra, increasing coverage northward throughout the afternoon.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, Fallon, Lovelock, Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Gardnerville, Virginia City, Boca Reservoir, Twin Lakes, Lahontan Reservoir, Incline Village, Alpine Meadows, Olympic Valley, Stampede Reservoir, Bodie, Benton, Bridgeport, and Prosser Creek Reservoir.
What to Do
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
