* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... North Central Socorro County in central New Mexico... West Central Valencia County in central New Mexico... Southeastern Cibola County in west central New Mexico...
* Until 315 PM MDT.
* At 235 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 26 miles southeast of Acoma Pueblo, or 32 miles south of Laguna Pueblo, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Mainly rural areas of North Central Socorro, West Central Valencia and Southeastern Cibola Counties.
What to Do
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.

* Flash Flood Warning for... Eastern Cibola County in west central New Mexico...
* Until 500 PM MDT.
* At 204 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over and near Laguna Pueblo, including I-25. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Laguna Pueblo, New Laguna, Mesita and Paraje.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 108 and 118.
What to Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

At 218 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated that the thunderstorms producing heavy rain south of Grants had ended. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... McCartys, Skyline-Ganipa, San Fidel, Cubero, Acomita Lake, Acomita, North Acomita Village, Seama and Paraje.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 87 and 107.
This includes the following recreation areas... El Malpais Ranger Station.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Southeastern Cibola County.
What to Do
In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Additional Details
- At 126 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area.
