Impacts
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.
Additional Details
- At 1059 AM CDT, emergency management reported ongoing flooding across the warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Falls County Emergency Management has reported road closures due to flooding for portions of Highway 53, FM 431, and FM 1963. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Waco, Temple, Belton, Hewitt, Robinson, Woodway, Marlin, Cameron, Morgan's Point Resort, Beverly Hills, Little River- Academy, Lorena, Troy, Bruceville-Eddy, Rosebud, Moody, Rogers, Riesel, Bremond and Lott. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

Tips to Stay Safe
A Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is expected or already happening. Take immediate action to protect yourself and your home.
- If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground.
- Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads.
- Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
- If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary.
- Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
- If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

Flood Watch Through Sunday Afternoon

A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of North Texas due to the potential for several rounds of additional heavy rain this weekend. While most locations will see rainfall amounts of 0.5" to 2.0", localized areas may see upwards of 6" to 8" of rain. As such, flash flooding will be possible this weekend. While the flooding threat is lower outside of the watch area, it is still non-zero across portions of Central and East Texas. As such, please keep an eye on the weather this weekend especially if you have any outdoor plans.
